Chief Executive Officer

Tom Finnerty

With more than two decades of leadership in pediatric healthcare and physician network management, Tom brings deep operational knowledge and strategic perspective to SophistiPrax. As longtime CEO of Kids Health First Pediatric Alliance, he has guided large networks of independent pediatric practices through changing reimbursement models, regulatory complexity, and increasing operational pressure.

Tom’s work has centered on building and running practical systems that support managed care contracting, network operations, financial performance, compliance, and quality improvement. His leadership has helped independent practices remain financially stable while maintaining high standards of care, and he is known for developing collaborative, sustainable relationships with health plans and partners that respect practice autonomy.

Tom, along with the Independent Practice Association he has led for more than two decades, played a pivotal role in helping to form a leading local pediatric clinically integrated network, the largest of its kind in the country. The IPA provided the critical independent, community based primary care infrastructure and experienced operational staff necessary to support a large, purely voluntary membership model. In addition, his organization developed and implemented the value added service, group purchasing, education, and MOC programs that helped cement strong engagement across affiliated community practices and sustained participation throughout the network.

Since its formation, the CIN has achieved an unprecedented level of scale and success for a network of its size operating on a voluntary basis. Tom’s ongoing focus remains on supporting and strengthening the CIN so it continues to deliver clear value, credibility, and practical benefit to its member practices while preserving independence and long-term trust.

He and his team recognize that the success and long-term viability of the pediatric healthcare system, and of independent community-based practices, are closely tied to the strength and effectiveness of their local clinically integrated network. They accomplish this by supporting and empowering affiliated community practices to operate successfully, which in turn strengthens the CIN’s performance, operational effectiveness, and ability to support high quality, coordinated care for the children it serves.

At SophistiPrax, Tom and the highly experienced team he leads work to strengthen independent practices by improving day to day operations, reducing administrative burden, and delivering practical, usable support. The most effective path to a strong and successful CIN is through a network of strong, well run community practices. By helping practices remain operationally efficient and viable over the long term, SophistiPrax enables deeper and more effective engagement across the clinically integrated network, reinforcing the CIN’s overall performance, credibility, and long-term success.
